Ever wondered what to pamper your kid with food allergies with? If you had invited guests and not aware if they have any allergies, have you worried that they may have allergies and may react to what you have cooked for them? Than this allergy-friendly guide is what you need to see.

Having a kid with multiple food allergies ( for cow milk, egg, oats, honey, avacado, dates, artificial colours/ additives, and the list goes on) since birth, I would have scanned through hundreds of thousands of ingredient lists everywhere I went/ travelled to and at every website I combed. It was my sincere hope that I strike jackpot that day and found allergy-free options she can enjoy together with her peers and soak in the festive atmosphere she was in. Even with such tight scrutiny that happens every night till wee hours, she still reacted to most of them. I figured out over time that her body preferred options which were as natural as possible and made with as little ingredients as possible. As such, this lists will detail only those her body tolerated and thus is recommended to be allergy friendly.

Coincidentally, during this exploration phase, I also came to know many more kids having food allergies and parents/caretakers struggling to get substitutes their kids can enjoy. So I just had to pen this out to help many parents/hosts out there to ensure they have quick access to allergy-free foods their kids/guests can enjoy. I hope this list will benefit you as much as it helped me watch the smiles, these products drew on my kid's face.

MEAL INGREDIENTS (ALLERGY-FRIENDLY & VEGAN)

Usually it is safe to use organic brown rice or pasta as a base and add non-histamine inducing vegetables like garlic, broccoli, carrot, asparagus, leek, tofu (if not allergic to soy) , etc and make dishes out of them. Rice is the easiest grain to digest and thus the easiest for those most sensitive stomach to digest without any adverse reaction.

It is advisable to use nutrient-rich sea salt/pink himalayan salt and add basic spices like turmeric, chilli powder, pepper, nutritional yeast, etc to flavour the dishes. My girl actually reacted to thyme, oregano, Italian spices, vegetable broth etc whenever I added them. So off they went out of my kitchen ever since.

I would also advise against adding nightshade vegetables such as tomatoes, brinjal etc as they may trigger off itch for some whose body systems are very reactive like my kid's.
